I’m a person through and through. I love what I do because every day I get to build meaningful relationships and help others succeed. After four decades in the credit and collections industry, I’ve learned that what truly matters isn’t just results, it’s the heart behind them.
Guided by that love and gratitude, I am proud to continue evolving both of my corporations; National Business Factors, Inc., known as “The Collection Agency with a Heart,” and The NBF Group, Inc., our Early-Out Accounts Receivable Management Company. While National Business Factors, Inc. focuses on compassionate, compliant recovery of past-due balances, The NBF Group Inc. mirrors the very hospitals and healthcare systems we represent, working directly with patients and insurance companies personally to resolve balances with care, precision, and understanding. We believe that every account tells a story, and our role is to help bring it to resolution through empathy, accuracy, and accountability. The ever-changing laws and credit regulations have made it harder for providers to help patients, but we remain the bridge supporting both sides with respect, diligence, and results.
While my post-COVID schedule may look a little different these days, my connection to clients remains as strong as ever. Whether it’s a call, text, email, Teams chat or Zoom meeting I’m always just a conversation away.
I began my NBF journey in 1985 as a collector, became Collection Manager, and later Vice President of Customer Relations before stepping into my current role as CEO and Owner. I hold a Collection Agency Manager’s Qualification Certificate with the State of Nevada, Department of Business and Industry, Financial Institutions Division, and regularly conduct FDCPA seminars and client in-services throughout the West. My background also includes banking, management, and specialized certifications from the American Collectors Association, College of Marin, and Sonoma State University.
Now, as a proud empty nester, I’m learning to navigate life in my big quiet home with the joyful chaos of my three Boston Terriers, my constant companions and reminders to keep moving forward. Outside of work, I devote time to volunteering in my community, especially for programs that support youth and individuals with special needs a cause forever close to my heart.
At the end of the day, I believe success comes from service to clients, to community, and to the people we love. 💙

Most people think of Information Technology (IT) Departments as the folks who fix printers and reset passwords. While we do heroically battle the occasional paper jam, our IT Department at NBF goes far beyond that.
Our department faces the constant challenge of keeping up with the ever-changing IT landscape, but that’s part of what keeps things exciting. We’re a crucial part of NBF’s operations… helping every other department run smoothly (and occasionally reminding them to restart their computers). My role expanded, in 2024, into “Director of Operations and Technology”, which means I now get to combine my love for IT with overseeing broader business operations. Same Kim, new hat and yes, I still fix things when they break. I grew up in beautiful Mammoth Lakes, CA, where I spent my time skiing, riding my quad, and playing tennis. After high school, I moved to Carson City and graduated from beauty school. I’ve worked in many industries, but technology stole my heart, and I’ve been with NBF since 2004. I started at the front desk, worked my way up to IT and Mail Room Manager, took a brief adventure away in 2020, and thrilled to be back with my NBF family since 2021. Outside of work, you can find me spending time with my family, camping and thoroughly spoiling my dogs (who, by the way, think they run IT at home).

Being a team member of NBF affords me the opportunity to feed my passion as it relates to; researching laws and regulations and staying current with all the credit-collection industry changes.
Things to know about Mary Mary joined NBF in 2000 as the legal clerk. She is currently NBF’s Compliance Officer and Legal Department Manager. Prior to joining NBF Mary worked in the banking industry. In addition to her BA, Mary also holds a Master Degree’s in Business Administration and Public Administration from UNLV. She is certified through the Association of Credit and Collector Professionals as a Credit Collection Compliance Officer. Mary is active in the Collection industry holding the post of Secretary/Treasurer for the Nevada Collectors Associates and being a member of the Association of Credit and Collector Professionals Unit Leadership team. I became a part of the The NBF Family in January of 2009, bringing four years of experience in the accounting field. I began as an Accounts Receivable Representative and several years later transitioned to the Accounts Receivable Manager.
The responsibilities of that position helped me enhance my abilities over the years. I take pride in leading by example. In addition to the Accounts Receivable Manager, I was promoted to the position of Controller in May of 2011. I was delighted to accept this challenge and thrilled to be given the opportunity. Recently, the title of Human Resource Director was given to me which allows me to offer guidance, advice and support to our employees and oversee HR Responsibilities. It is a continuing pleasure to witness the positivity and growth here at NBF over the years. The mentors at NBF have gone above and beyond for me. They have proven to be some of the best people I’ve ever known. Always willing to share and provide valuable information and resources to myself and anyone in need. I have learned a great deal from them which I pass on to my team members. For that, I am truly grateful. Things To Know About Destiny Destiny and her husband enjoy family time with their 3 children as much as possible. Almost empty-nesters, they take great pride in celebrating each of their children’s accomplishments. With one son in the Army, another son enjoying his chosen trade and a daughter in her last few years of high school (who also works part time for NBF), they couldn’t be more proud. Some of Destiny’s passions include gardening, interior design and DIY Projects.

I began my career at NBF as an outsourcing representative. This position afforded me the opportunity to learn the Accounts Receivable Management industry.
An important item I have learned is how the medical billing process impacts both our clients and their patients. Each day at NBF is different and I enjoy being challenged in unique ways. Through hard work and dedication, I have obtained the position of Outsourcing and Special Project Manager. My experience in customer service has served me well at NBF. I know to listen to the needs of the patients and balance that with the expectations of our clients. The mentors here share their years of experience with me to help me grow with the company. With the completion of my coursework in medical billing/coding I hold a certificate as a Certified Profession Biller. I welcome putting that education to beneficial use and leading my team in outsourcing and special projects. Outside of NBF, I enjoy spending my time outdoors with my family and friends.

I initiated my tenure at NBF in August 2020 as a collector. My unwavering commitment and industrious nature propelled me through the ranks from collector to lead, then supervisor, culminating in my current role as collection manager.
In this capacity, I steer my team towards effectively assisting customers in settling their debts, upholding the principle that every individual deserves respect. Our customer-centric approach ensures we exhaust every avenue to facilitate debt payment. My role brings me immense satisfaction; I thrive on the daily interactions and the meaningful connections forged with customers. These relationships underscore the value of my work. The support and guidance of the NBF family have been instrumental in my journey, for which I am profoundly grateful.
